DAY 2

GROW THROUGH IT!

Spiritual growth isn’t just a journey toward God discovery, it’s also a journey towards self-discovery”- Dr. Dharius Daniels

  • The more we learn and discover about God; the more He teaches us about ourselves.
  • It’s crucial that we learn more about our weaknesses so that we don’t put ourselves in positions to be easily triggered
    • DON’T allow your triggers to hinder you from receiving the promise [Numbers 20:1-13]
      • Obedience and humility is a MUST
    • We could be out of Egypt but, not yet into Canaan
      • The wilderness can be a stage or a state [it depends on us; choices]
      • leave the old [habits; ways] before transitioning and entering the new

How long are YOU willing to remain offended, triggered and controlled by things that are trivial and insignificant to the greatness God wants to continue doing in your life? Once God has freed you from bondage [Egypt], don’t go back into captivity [in the mind]. STAY FREE!

  1. DON’T be intimidated by giants [Numbers 13:1-33]
    • You’re equipped to conquer who and what you’re fighting against
      • You’re NOT insignificant!
    • It’s a fixed fight [Judges 6]
      • Your opposer may seem great in size & in quantity but, with God fighting with you and for you, you’re mightier in power

1 John 4:4 (KJV) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

COLOSSIANS 1:28-29 “We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me.”

2. The way we view ourselves, especially in the presence of what looks like “giants” can affect the way we move forward in God

  • It’s not the “giants” we see that’s hurting and hindering us; it’s our head [our thoughts about the giants we see] that’s hurting us
    • PERCEPTION MATTERS!
    • Lose the headache(s)
      • Identify the problem [the root] and the solution [a cure] [Psalm 147:3; James 5:15-16]
  • We could allow our negative thoughts about ourselves delay our purpose & keep us from receiving the promise
    • Words have power to kill and give life
      • What are you repeating to yourself…about yourself?
      • Are those words of life or of death?
        • Be careful that you aren’t committing self-murder, mentally.
  • You’re stronger than you THINK you are!
    • Remind yourself of God’s words & promises to you and allow those words to come alive in your life [your situation(s)]

3. GET OUT of your head [Philip. 2:5-11]

4. STOP listening to opinions

Issaiah 2:22 (AMP) Stop regarding man, whose breath [of life] is in his nostrils [for so little time]; For why should he be esteemed?

Gal. 1:10 (ESV) For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
